Traffic Signal

McCann’s expert electrical team can provide effective solutions for all traffic signal requirements from design through to installation and maintenance.

Our Experience

Reliable traffic signal systems

Traffic signals automatically control the flow of traffic, commonly at road junctions and roundabouts, but also at pedestrian crossings, railway level crossings, opening bridges and tunnels. They ease the flow of traffic by alternating the priority in which vehicles may proceed. As our roads are becoming increasingly busier, helping to control the flow of traffic using traffic signals is essential.

With decades of industry experience, we work in partnership with local authorities, National Highways, and private contractors to design, deliver and install high-quality traffic signal systems that improve road safety, optimise traffic flow and support infrastructure.

Experts in
traffic signals
installation for
safer, smarter
roads

From minor upgrades to full intersection installations, our skilled engineers ensure every project meets the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

McCann offers full-service traffic signal supply and installation, including:

  • Site preparation and associated civil engineering works
  • Supply and installation of traffic signal infrastructure, which includes all poles, heads, push button facilities, detection and cabling
  • Electrical cabling and power connection
  • System commissioning and testing

All installations are carried out by trained professionals with a deep understanding of highway electrical systems and traffic management regulations. On existing roads, installation usually requires a form of temporary traffic management and in busy areas, off-peak working to minimise the impact on the highway network. Our team liaise with clients to ensure the works are completed to schedule, on budget and as safely and with as little impact on the wider network as possible.

Whether you are planning a new development, upgrading outdated infrastructure, or improving pedestrian safety, McCann delivers dependable traffic signal systems that meet the needs of modern transportation networks.
