  • John joined McCann straight from school, beginning his career on-site as a labourer. Over the years, he worked across every area of the business, gaining in-depth operational knowledge from the ground up. He progressed into project management and then commercial leadership before taking over the company in 1996 from his father, John McCann Senior. Under John’s guidance, the business has grown significantly, evolving into a national infrastructure specialist with a reputation for quality, reliability and customer focus.

  • Adrian has over 30 years’ construction experience and joined McCann in 2000 as a Project Manager. Appointed Construction Director in 2015, he has delivered infrastructure projects nationwide for multiple clients, working closely with National Highways and local authorities. Fully conversant with NRSWA requirements, he leads civil engineering projects ranging from small works to £5m+ schemes. Adrian is a champion of McCann health & safety initiatives, including being a First Aider and Mental Health First Aider.

  • Andrew joined McCann in 1996 as Area Manager for a maintenance contract, later moving into estimating at Head Office. He returned to site to deliver a major regeneration project, gaining experience in delivery and pre-construction. In 2010, he became Major and Special Projects Director, expanding the business into telecoms and fibre infrastructure. A passionate industry advocate, Andrew has been a member of CECA Midlands for over 15 years and is currently Vice Chair. He has also mentored young people through 1 Million Mentors.

He joined McCann in 1999 as a Senior QS and became Operations Director in 2010. Over the past 25 years, he has helped grow the business from £6m to over £100m, while maintaining the company’s core values of integrity, teamwork, and excellence.

  • Catherine is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 30 years’ experience in the transport sector, working in contracting, consulting, local and central government and managing a private limited company. Following 20 years at National Highways, the last ten years in senior leadership roles, she returned to the private sector in 2021 and joined McCann’s in 2024 as Strategic Highways Director. Catherine ensures our strategic highways projects run smoothly and efficiently, principally leading McCann’s work on the Scheme Delivery Framework for National Highways.

He plays a central role in the mobilisation and delivery of a wide portfolio of term service contracts, driving performance across highways, street lighting, and civil engineering, and ensuring seamless, client-focused execution from start to finish. His leadership has helped position McCann as a trusted delivery partner to local authorities across the UK.

    Abdulla has been working on our London Borough of Hillingdon Street Lighting Maintenance contract since its commencement in 2017. As Contract Manager, he oversees street lighting maintenance, capital works, procurement, and contract performance. He ensures projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget, while maintaining compliance and building strong relationships with clients.

  • Andrew is an experienced and knowledgeable Operations Manager who has successfully delivered several individual projects and frameworks during his time at McCann. He currently leads our £30 million Liverpool City Council street lighting maintenance and our North Yorkshire Highways ICP connections contracts. He is a self-reliant and driven individual who leads by example and has excellent customer facing and communication skills.

He leads the optimisation and management of McCann’s Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, Multi-Utilities, and PAS 2080 systems, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement across the business. With a strong focus on collaboration and safe systems of work, especially around planned mechanical lifts, Ben plays a key role in driving efficiency, safety, and high performance throughout McCann.

  • Chris brings over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong focus on commercial management within the highways sector. Starting his career as a trainee Quantity Surveyor, he has progressed through the ranks to become Commercial Lead at McCann in 2024.

    He plays a key role in delivering major client frameworks, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget. Chris works closely with senior leadership to drive performance across strategic highways schemes, while also mentoring and developing junior members of the commercial team. Passionate about maintaining high standards, Chris champions robust commercial governance and best practice across the business.

  • Eleanor holds a master’s degree in Environmental Management from the University of Nottingham and has been McCann’s Environmental Manager for over four years. She leads the development of McCann’s carbon management strategy, including the delivery of our Net Zero plan. Eleanor oversees the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ensuring compliance and continual improvement, and works with internal teams and external partners to embed sustainability and drive environmental progress.

She leads McCann’s Payroll and Accounts functions, delivering payroll for 320+ employees, managing 2,500+ invoices monthly, ensuring HMRC compliance, and driving major system improvements, including the move to fully electronic processes. Joanne is passionate about developing her teams through training and apprenticeships.

Paul provides quality assurance support across the business, developing Quality Plans, ITPs, and management system guidance to ensure compliance, consistency, and continual improvement.
