During 2024, McCann successfully tendered for the delivery of civil engineering covering below-ground infrastructure and above-ground non-infrastructure projects on the Asset Management Plan AMP8 Framework for Northumbrian Water.

This sets into motion our first steps into the water sector, of which John McCann, Managing Director at McCann stated “We’ve certainly proven ourselves to be adept at entering new markets throughout our 50+ years in business in order to meet ever-evolving infrastructure demands and we’re looking forward to collaborating with fellow contractors and Northumbrian Water’s in-house IDS team across a broad range of schemes over the coming years.”

McCann delivers critical water infrastructure under live railway and through a protected SSSI

Selcon, working on behalf of Severn Trent Connect, appointed McCann as Principal Contractor to deliver a highly challenging pumped rising main installation underneath an operational railway line and through one of the most environmentally sensitive sites in the UK, Stodmarsh SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest), connected to a newly constructed headwall within the river.
