This course aims to provide employees working within the Highway Electrical Sector the underpinning skills needed to operate specific powered hand tools, identify specific hand and power tool operation and associated hazards and risks for Petrol Driven Cut-Off Saws.

A summative assessment will follow the completion of this course or group of courses.

• Review of Legislation and guidance for the correct safe use of work equipment
• Understand the safe use
• Focus on possible problems and recognition
• Operation of cut off saw

On completion of the course learners will:

• Identify Hazards and Risks with specific Power tools
• Understand the required PPE
• Identify appropriate legislation
• Understand the necessary work required for correct care and maintenance of specific power tools
• Understand the correct storage of specific power tools
• Identify the correct tool for the job
