We create strong working partnerships with clients and key stakeholders involved in road and footpath projects. This is attained through regular meetings with our clients, members of the Site Management Team and members of our key supply chain. For projects involving stakeholders with complex public liaison requirements, a dedicated Public Liaison Officer is assigned. By working closely with these key parties, we are better able to understand the requirements of the project, deadlines and budget, and manage changes as and when they arise.

The viability of our approach was demonstrated in the Shrewsbury Infrastructure Project, where we were appointed Principal Contractor for the construction of a new highway adoptable road and footpath. Our Project Manager initiated frequent meetings with the client, Design Team and utility bodies. Through these meetings, unforeseen issues were highlighted and key risks were mitigated. As a result of daily risk reduction and lean planning meetings, the works were completed on time and with minimal traffic disruption. In addition, innovative procurement techniques enabled project flexibility and shorter lead times, all while sustaining excellent relationships with the supply chain, client and local residents.

Another Project was the Heatherwood Roundabout Scheme, which included full-depth road and footway construction, earthworks and drainage. Works took place during the COVID-19 pandemic and ambulance access was maintained at all times. To deliver the project on time, within budget, and with minimal traffic disruption, we met regularly with the client to discuss monthly reports, dated expenditure, spend profiles, and anticipated out-turn forecasts. With this approach, we were able to complete the project before schedule and with £60k savings.
