General Manager
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused General Manager to lead the delivery of our Suffolk Street Lighting Term Service Contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a major, long-term contract, delivering street lighting maintenance, capital works, project delivery, and third-party works across Suffolk and the surrounding region. You will lead a high-performing operational team responsible for delivering exceptional service to our client while driving safety, financial performance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Role and responsibilities;
What your role will include:
- Operational Leadership: Overseeing the day-to-day end-to-end delivery of maintenance, capital investment, and third-party works across Suffolk and the wider region.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Acting as the primary, senior point of contact for operational matters, building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with the local authority client, and supporting future business growth through bid input and strategic engagement.
- Commercial & Financial Management: Holding full P&L responsibility for the contract, managing budgets, tracking forecasts, driving efficiencies, and ensuring plant, materials, and resources are planned and utilised seamlessly.
- KPI & Contract Performance: Monitoring performance against key contractual metrics and service level agreements (SLAs), implementing corrective actions where required, and championing a right-first-time approach to exceed client expectations.
- People Leadership: Leading, motivating, and developing a multidisciplinary, high-performing workforce (including commercial staff, managers, supervisors, and field operatives) while driving succession planning and performance management.
- Safety, Health, & Quality (SHWEQ): Promoting and leading a safety-first, inclusive culture across the contract, ensuring full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality policies, legislation, and company standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Driving innovation, identifying value-engineering opportunities, sharing lessons learned, and supporting the implementation of new technologies and improved ways of working across the contract.
- Reporting & Collaboration: Producing comprehensive monthly operational, financial, and performance reports for internal stakeholders and the client, while collaborating across departments to foster wider business success.

- Highly organised with a proven ability to coordinate complex logistics, manage multiple concurrent operational workstreams, and meet strict contractual KPIs and service levels.
- A safety-first, proactive mindset with a deep-rooted commitment to maintaining rigorous SHWEQ standards, alongside the flexibility to travel regularly across the Suffolk area.
- A deep understanding of the street lighting or wider infrastructure sector, contract delivery (such as term service contracts), and commercial drivers, alongside a drive to stay ahead of industry legislation and best practices.
- Highly proficient in holding full contract P&L responsibility, analysing financial forecasts, producing accurate performance reports, and using MS Office (specifically Word and Excel) to manage complex data. Must be physically capable of meeting any on-site demands of the role.
Qualifications:
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or equivalent senior safety qualification.
- Valid CSCS Card (relevant grade).
- Full, clean driver’s license.
- Recognised professional management qualifications or relevant sector-specific accreditations (e.g., ILM, HERS/HEA registrations) are highly desirable.

Multi-Utilities Manager
We are seeking an experienced Multi-Utilities Manager to join our growing team and take a leading role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of multi-utility infrastructure projects (Gas, Water, and Electricity).
The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact between asset owners, network operators (DNOs/IDNOs/IGTs), local authorities, and site construction teams, ensuring all utility connections are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in strict compliance with industry regulations.
Role and responsibilities;
What your role will include:
- Overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of multi-utility installations from initial design review through to final connection and adoption.
- Coordinating directly with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), Independent DNOs (IDNOs), Independent Gas Transporters (IGTs), water authorities, and local councils to secure design approvals, street works permits, and road closures.
- Managing project budgets, tracking variations, approving subcontractor valuations, and ensuring procurement of materials aligns seamlessly with project timelines.
- Reviewing utility composite drawings, point-of-connection (POC) designs, and technical specifications to identify potential clashes or value-engineering opportunities.
- Driving the development and implementation of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) management systems, ensuring all site works strictly adhere to Health & Safety legislation, Street Works regulations (NRSWA), and utility industry standards.
- Managing direct labour, sub-contracted multi-utility teams, and supply chain partners to ensure high-quality workmanship, cost-effectiveness, and timely progress.
- Auditing safety and quality management processes to ensure the business retains its vital NERS accreditation.
- Maintaining a comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of statutory legislation, British Standards, and Utility Codes of Practice to ensure the company consistently meets its legal obligations.

This is a strategically important role, working with some of our most valued clients within the UK. You will be responsible for the creation and management of all Contract programmes & Tender bids within our Southern Division, working under our Southern Area Contracts Manager and Head of Planning.
Essential Criteria:

- Proven experience working as a Planner within the construction or civil engineering sector.
- Demonstrable expertise in utilising Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project planning software.
- Strong technical understanding of Civil & Electrical engineering build elements (including drainage, kerbing, motorway technology, street lighting, and traffic signals).
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contract mechanisms, specifically the Clause 62 / Impacted Programme process and Compensation Events.
- Ability to build a logic-linked programme completely from first principles based on Works Information, specifications, drawings and models.
Role and Responsibilities:
What your role will include:
- Programme Development: Developing and managing project programmes under the NEC form of contract from first principles (Tender through to Commissioning & Handover) on both P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Contractual Documentation: The draft and submission of compliant Clause 31 and Clause 32 submissions to the client.
- Programme Management: Regularly updating programmes and creating Clause 62/Impacted programmes in response to Compensation Events (CEs) and other changes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaising with senior stakeholders, both internal and external, to provide updates on the programme and key milestones.
- Progress Monitoring & Delay Mitigation: Monitoring the progress of works, identifying potential delays, and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Change Control: Tracking and controlling all changes to the project delivery programme.
- Relationship Building: Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key teams such as estimating, site, design, construction, clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Delivery Process Understanding: Possessing a strong understanding of the end-to-end project delivery process.
- Change Impact Assessment: Identifying and assessing the impact of potential changes on project timelines and plans, communicating these changes effectively, as well as producing mitigation strategies to ensure project delivery remains on track.
