J McCann & Co Limited offers an exciting opportunity to join our expert team. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Jointing Supervisor to lead and manage site operations nationwide. This role demands a strong commitment to health and safety and the ability to effectively manage time and resources across various sites.

Who we are looking for:
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Jointing Supervisor, specifically overseeing DNO jointing operations within the utilities contracting sector.

This is a physically active role requiring outdoor work in all weather.

- Cable Jointing Expertise: A minimum of 2 years as a Jointer in the immediate past three years in the NERS sector as an ICP jointer, specifically on distribution networks associated with unmetered supplies.
- DNO Authorisation: Hold relevant authorisation to work on DNO/IDNO networks as a cable jointer.
- Safety Focus: A strong commitment to adhering to safety protocols and promoting a secure work environment during connection activities.
- Physical Fitness: Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions, standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and performing the physical aspects of cable jointing.
- Driving Licence: A full, clean UK Driving Licence (maximum 6 penalty points), as travel to various sites will be required.

Role and responsibilities;
What your role will include:
- You’ll be responsible for ensuring that the work is carried out in correct and safe manner with Safety Management System being adhered to at all times.
- Keeping all electrical test equipment clean and maintained and observe calibration dates.
- You’ll be committed to the companies’ policy on Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality issues.
- Responsible for ensuring that all recording of all joints, cable positions and relevant paperwork is completed accurately.
- We’ll ask you to undertake jointing work in accordance with the company distribution safety rules and the host jointing manual.
- You’ll also be responsible for removing any hazardous materials generated by the jointing process and keeping the site generally free from rubbish.
- Whilst maintaining the jointing manual with any updates or safety bullets issued by your Line Manager.
- In this role you will be required to undertake Jointing techniques up to 1000V, including excavation, cable laying, reinstatement and fault location on SWA LV cables.
- Frequently exercise independent technical judgement within your responsibilities.
- Collaborate with your manager(s) to ensure team members perform effectively and meet company objectives.
- Accurately report all worked hours on timesheets for your line manager.

Essential criteria;
Who we are looking for:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Jointer’s Mate in the immediate past three years in NERS sector. Proven experience in cable jointing on distribution networks for unmetered supplies.
- Qualifications: Basic Health and Safety (ECS HE version H&S test), training in underground service safety.
- Time Management: Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to solve technical issues that arise on site in order to ensure productivity remains high.
- Physical Fitness: Physically fit to handle demanding work, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.

Are you passionate about supporting your community by ensuring well-organised and efficiently managed depot and store operations across our three depots?
We are seeking a committed individual to join our team as a Stores Officer. In this role, you’ll work closely with our maintenance and capital works teams to ensure that all materials, tools, and equipment needed for street lighting, signage, and associated electrical systems are readily available and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Depot and Stores Officer, you will:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the depot and stores, ensuring all materials and equipment are properly stored and maintained and distributed to the sites.
- Managing the warranty of materials, checking and returning faulty elements.
- Coordinate the distribution and inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies to support street lighting and electrical maintenance projects.
- Conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate records of inventory levels.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to reorder supplies as needed and ensure timely availability of materials.
- Ensure that all depot activities comply with Health and Safety regulations.
- Support the maintenance and capital teams by providing necessary equipment for testing, installation, and repair work.
- Assist in the preparation and organisation of materials for new installations and routine maintenance tasks.
- Handle any additional duties required to ensure smooth depot operations and successful project completion.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should have:
