Grass is greener for Nottingham Forest
A recent project has seen McCann successfully install the infrastructure for a state-of-the-art Mobile Lighting Rig system at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground. After much speculation over the debate between artificial grass and harvesting the natural grounds, Nottingham Forest are one of the first football clubs in the Championship to utilise the MLR system. The MLR lighting technology allows the pitch to be artificially illuminated, thus encouraging areas with low grass coverage or excessive wear to restore growth and help ensure an excellent playing surface all year round.
With only a two week window within the international break, McCann took on the challenge to dig trenches down each side of the pitch and install 8 feed cable to four PDUs, allowing power to be supplied direct to the MLR system. McCann managed to not only leave the pitch looking picture perfect, but also finished the install within eight days – two days ahead of schedule and, in time for the home game against AFC Bournemouth.
