We have successfully become an Independent Connections Provider through the National Electricity Registration Scheme and added a new ICP Supervisor to the team
We have successfully achieved National Electrical Registration Scheme (NERS) accreditation, operated by Lloyd’s Register, and become registered as an Independent Connections Provider (ICP).
ICP accreditation through NERS allows registered companies to the carry out contestable service connection works as defined by the UK’s Distribution Network Operators (DNOs). The service scope accredited to us includes electrical network design, LV/HV underground cable network installation, LV dead & live Jointing and network connections.
Gaining ICP accreditation enables us to expand our team and take on more complex and diverse projects.
The ICP team now consists of six operatives and technical support staff based in both north and south England which allows us to operate and deliver in multiple locations. Works are currently being delivered in North East Lincolnshire and South West London.
The ICP business stream is managed by ICP Manager, Steve Adcock and the latest addition to the team is ICP Supervisor, Ben Byatt. Together, they have the core responsibility of ensuring that all ICP Distribution Network Operator connection works are delivered in accordance with the company’s NERS accredited procedures.
Ben is excited to be joining such a strong and reputable organisation and cannot wait to get stuck into his new role – “McCann has a strong health and safety culture and high standards when it comes to the delivery of its contracts throughout the business. I am excited to work for a company that is one of the leaders within its industry”.
Compliance with NERS safety system requirements requires efficient internal management, high levels of organisation, and a strict policy on health and safety – something we are well-known for in the industry after achieving a RoSPA Gold Award for safety in both 2016 and 2017.
John McCann, Managing Director, said, “Having ICP accreditation through NERS highlights our dedication to continued growth and our commitment to health and safety. It opens a lot of doors for us moving forward and we are confident that we can go on to complete even more electrical projects across the UK”.
