The McCann Group is saddened to announce the loss of loyal friend and Director, William Tunney
It is with immense sadness and grief that The McCann Group, its Directors and all of its staff announce the sudden loss of loyal Director, Uncle and friend, William Thomas Tunney.
Willy, as he was affectionately known, passed away after a short illness on Thursday 3rd September aged 71.
He was in his fourth year of retirement but still popped in regularly to remind us all where we were going wrong and how to put it right.
He had many friends and acquaintances within the lighting industry and we know that he will be remembered for his many words of wisdom and generous actions over the years. We’re sure that all of you reading this who knew Willy will have some very happy and interesting memories of him.
We know that both John McCann (Willy’s nephew) and our Contracts and Technical Director Steve Adcock (a friend for 40+ years), have many tales to tell and he will be remembered in time and memoriam.
His razor-sharp wit will be missed, as will the caring, generous person behind it – and his craig!
His funeral will be held on Friday 18th September 2020 at 10.30am at Bulwell Northern Cemetery, Nottingham. We hope that you will join us from a distance in remembering Willy on this day, abiding by COVID restrictions. Only family flowers can be left at the cemetery on the day.
