Promotion for our Commercial Manager as Adam Gilliver joins the company’s Board of Directors
We’re delighted to announce the promotion of our Commercial Manager Adam Gilliver to the position of Commercial Director, with a place on the firm’s Board of Directors now confirmed.
Adam joined McCann as Commercial Manager in October 2019 after previously occupying the same position at Galliford Try. Following the move, Adam was tasked with overseeing and developing our commercial performance in order to drive growth and maintain long-lasting partnerships with key clients and partners. The position also included the administration of contracts won across the business, while managing the company’s team of Quantity Surveyors.
After just over 12 months in the role, and demonstrating his abilities for attaining commercial success to McCann’s board, Adam has been promoted to the position of Commercial Director in order to take on a more strategic view of McCann’s commercial activities.
It’s a challenge he’s very happy to accept and he’s eager to get going in his new role – as he begins to set out the firm’s commercial plans for the months and years ahead.
“I’m incredibly excited by the opportunity that’s been placed in front of me!” says Adam. It really is a great time to be at McCann and we have enormous potential for expansion across all areas of the business in the next three years and beyond,”
“Within my new role I’ll continue with many of the responsibilities I held previously, but with more of an emphasis on driving our commercial strategy and thinking both broader and further ahead,”
He continues, “I thoroughly believe that we have a business model which is unique within the civil and electrical engineering industry. We pride ourselves on close collaboration across all of our projects – something that really sets us apart from our competitors. The long-term aim is to create divisionalisation within the business, so that we align ourselves to our clients projects and build streamlined commercial partnerships which we can take forward into the future,”
“I’m also passionate about maintaining and promoting our ‘no surprise culture’, so that when clients come to us, they know to always expect complete transparency and honesty in how we partner with them,” says Adam. “There’s no need for secrets, and continuing to foster this culture can only help to develop even more honest and open relationships to the benefit of our team and our customers.” he adds.
News of Adam’s promotion comes hot on the heels of us adding Highways Director Clive Leadbetter to our team as part of our three year growth plan. As Managing Director John McCann explains, Adam’s promotion to the Board of Directors sits within the long-term strategy and provides an important piece of the jigsaw in order to open new doors across all of our service areas.
“Adam’s been instrumental in our success over the past twelve months and he continues to show the business acumen and drive we need to make McCann a more widely recognised household name within our industry,” says John.
He continues, “Promoting Adam to our Board of Directors and allowing him to be more strategic within his role, will enable us to grow the reputation of the business further and realise our ambitions,”
“The next step is for us to build a bigger commercial team around him while building upon the partnerships we have in place, so that we can make our mark among the already established tier 1 contractors as a trusted full-service provider for both new and existing clients.”
