Our team exhibits at the Institution of Lighting Professionals’ Lightscene 2018
This annual event brings together companies from across the lighting sector for a day of talks and networking, exploring issues facing the industry and how to collectively approach them. Companies in attendance range from lighting technology specialists, to those offering products and services to the sector.
With well managed highways, EV supplies and smart city technology all coming into play within the industry, diversification of street lighting assets is becoming a crucial factor when considering how to best implement the next phase of works for companies.
Talks on the day included topics surrounding the new Code of Practice for Well Managed Highways and the alignment of TR22, as well as a risk manager’s perspective on how the new code of practice is being implemented. There was also a talk on global market access to luminaires and the general regulations that exist across the globe with regards to exportation.
The ILP is the independent, not-for-profit professional institution of the lighting industry and is held in high regard within the civil engineering sector, local authorities and beyond. Lightscene 2018 is a big event in the regions’ calendar – and we were delighted to exhibit at this year’s event.
As a Corporate Member of the ILP and with Midland Region board members Steve Adcock (Chair), and Tiz Gibson (Secretary), both a part of our Senior Management team, this was in fact the first occasion that McCann has exhibited at an ILP event.
Following the event, Steve commented, “For me, it was an excellent and well attended event that provided the opportunity to meet many old friends and local authority representatives,”
He continued, “We had the pleasure of meeting some great industry professionals, as well as having the opportunity to listen to inspirational guest speakers. We very much look forward to seeing everyone again at the next ILP event in the near future!”
