McCann Achieves Gold in The 5% Club for the Third Consecutive Year

McCann is proud to announce that, for the third year in a row, we have achieved Gold Membership status in The 5% Club, a recognition of our continued commitment to developing talent through high-quality “earn and learn” opportunities.

The 5% Club is a dynamic movement of employers across the UK who are passionate about creating a socially mobile, prosperous and cohesive nation. Members pledge to work towards having at least 5% of their workforce in “earn and learn” positions, such as apprenticeships, sponsored students and graduates on formalised training schemes.

This year, we’re delighted to join 136 employers who have been awarded Gold Membership for 2025–2026, a mark of excellence that reflects between 5% and 10% of employees in earn and learn roles.

At the time of auditing, McCann had 22 team members, 7.6% of our 291-strong workforce, actively participating in earn and learn schemes. These include a range of roles such as Quantity Surveyors, Electrical Installation Operatives and Site Supervisors, each playing an essential part in the growth and success of our business and the wider industry.

John McCann, Managing Director, McCann Ltd, comments, “We’re incredibly proud to be recognised as a Gold Member of The 5% Club for the third year in a row. At McCann, we believe that investing in people is investing in our future, both as a business and as an industry. Our apprentices, graduates and trainees bring fresh ideas, energy and ambition to every project, and it’s inspiring to see them grow and succeed within our team. This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to developing skills, nurturing talent and creating opportunities for the next generation.”

Our ongoing commitment to training and development not only strengthens our workforce but also supports the next generation of skilled professionals. By investing in people, we’re helping to ensure a sustainable future for both our company and the communities we serve.

Celebrating the achievement, our HR Manager, Jade, and Culture and Social Impact Manager, Kate, attended the 5% Club Skills Summit 2025. The summit offers a fresh focus on the wider skills challenge and insights from across the employment landscape, with panellists Kenye Karemo, Faheem Khan, Philip Smith and Dr Paul Redmond sharing inspiring insights and discussions.

Speaking on working and investing in apprentices, Faheem Khan, Founder and CEO at Future Leaders UK, said, “As the Founder of a social mobility organisation working with thousands of young people each year, I’ve seen the transformative impact apprenticeships have on both individuals and communities. They bridge the gap between potential and opportunity, giving young people the skills, confidence, and connections they need to thrive. When businesses invest in apprenticeships, they’re investing in the future — one that’s more inclusive, more dynamic, and more representative of the society we want to build.”

We’re incredibly proud of our team and grateful for their dedication to learning, growth and excellence.
