St Barnabas C of E Primary School receives donation from McCann for a suite of laptops
As a company dedicated to giving back to the local community, we’re delighted to have been able to donate a suite of laptops to local Leicestershire school, St Barnabas C of E Primary School.
At McCann, we are committed to supporting the communities local to us and actively look to find ways in which we can make a positive impact for future generations – whether this be through our in-house apprenticeship programmes or by donating resources to local schools.
Taran Dhillon, our IT Infrastructure Technician, identified that there were a number of surplus laptops at the McCann office and contacted local Leicestershire school, St Barnabas C of E Primary School, to see if they would benefit from receiving a donation of the laptops for their children.
The donated laptops were happily received by St Barnabas and will be used in classes across all departments in the school to support all levels of learning and education.
It was a heartwarming day for our Pre-Construction Manager, Jenna Holmes, who recently visited the wonderful staff at the school to deliver the laptops.
“We are really pleased to be able to make, albeit a small, contribution to such a wonderful, local school which positively makes a difference to the lives of its students every day,” Jenna shares,
“At McCann we endeavour to do what we can to support those living, working and learning locally. We hope our donation of laptops will play some part in the growth and development of the children at St Barnabas, while releasing some of the pressures that many schools face across the country in relation to the need to invest in technology and learning support materials,”
For Jenni Cousins, St Barnabas’ Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), the arrival of the laptops couldn’t have come at a better time as the school enters the new Autumn term.
“We are really grateful for the generosity that McCann has shown towards the school and extend a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who has been involved in this,”
“Our children have already had great enjoyment in using the laptops in their lessons, so we really cannot thank McCann enough for their kind donation.”
