Forest project ready to flourish thanks to cable drum donations
We recently supported National Highways with ‘drumming up’ support for one Nottinghamshire school, after St Peter’s Cross Keys C of E Academy in Farndon requested help with the creation of its forest project in the school grounds.
The staff and students at St Peter’s were in need of cable drums to help them create this exciting project and reached out to National Highways for support in sourcing and delivering the drums.
National Highways immediately sent out a request for help to its supply chain network, with a number of partners – including McCann – responding to pledge their assistance. As the first to respond, our team kindly donated the drums and hand delivered them to the school Monday 15 November.
The drums are not only enough to support the school with turning its forest project dreams into reality, but will also help with the creation of a separate playground project in the near future – much to the delight of the children in St Peter’s reception class.
Speaking about the donation our Project Manager Pardraic Sweeney, who helped to deliver the drums, said, “Wherever we can, we’re always happy to work with and support local organisations in order to make a genuine difference in the community,”
“This initiative is yet another great example of the brilliant relationship we have built up with National Highways and its supply chain community. It shows how collaboration can make a positive difference to both customers and local communities.”
National Highways’ Regional Operations Director for the Midlands, Andrew Jinks, said:
“We’re always keen to do our bit to help the community whenever we can and we’re delighted this will help the school with its exciting project.”
