We’ve achieved the coveted Gold Award at the prestigious RoSPA annual Health and Safety Awards
We are happy to announce that this week, McCann were announced as the winners of a RoSPA Gold Award at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accident’s annual Health and Safety Awards.
We took home a coveted Gold Award at the annual event on Wednesday night, which this year celebrated a 60 year milestone of recognising businesses for their dedication and commitment to accident and ill-health prevention in the workplace.
In the judging process for the RoSPA scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, companies are considered based on a range of occupational health and safety management systems and initiatives, including leadership and workforce involvement. Our impressive Gold Award is testament to the industry-leading safety standards the company implements across all areas of the business.
Priding ourselves on our continually improving ‘health and safety culture’ and placing accident prevention at the very heart of the work we carry out every day on the roads, highways and public spaces of the UK, the company has successfully managed to maintain its accident frequency rate (AFR) at zero over the previous 12 months – a notable achievement in the construction industry and one that undoubtedly contributed towards this latest award.
John McCann, Managing Director of McCann said, “This is a very special achievement for the company and clearly demonstrates how important health and safety and accident prevention is to everybody in the business. Prioritising the safety and wellbeing of our staff and everyone we work with has been the foundation of our business for over 40 years and we are hugely proud to be recognised by such a prestigious organisation as RoSPA.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, added, “To win an award at such a highly regarded event as the RoSPA Awards is a great achievement for our winners. It recognises their commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organisations to aspire to. We offer them our congratulations.”
