Three Employee of the Month Awards presented to dedicated Operatives

In September we recognised the hard work of three McCann Operatives by presenting them with Employee of the Month Awards, for showing great tenacity at work and dedication to customer service excellence.

At McCann, we endeavour to recognise and reward employees who go above and beyond when carrying out their normal working duties, whether that be our Operatives out in the field or staff working at our offices.

We presented awards to Dean Hodgkins and Josh Beck after a member of the public made contact about the fantastic customer service they had received, alongside the awareness that had been shown for the general public while working on his road.

Dean and Josh were praised for their kind and considerate manner when they were made aware of a driveway becoming blocked – immediately adjusting their working practices to ensure that disruption to the local community was kept to a minimum.

Nick Brownlow, Electrical and Technical Project Manager, is delighted to hear the positive feedback received about Dean and Josh.

“When our teams are carrying out works in the public realm, it can be challenging to mitigate disruptions to the local area, but at McCann we are committed to ensuring that these disruptions are minimised as much as possible,”

“Dean and Josh were made aware of a problem and swiftly rectified it, all while delivering exceptional customer service to residents. Both men are shining examples of our company values and how we strive to go above and beyond for customers, suppliers, partners and the general public.”

Also receiving recognition this month is Stephan Sheppard, who is being commended for his involvement in and contribution to the switch-on of the final National Stopped Vehicle Detection (SVD) retrofit programme scheme on the M6 Jct 16-19.

Contracts Manager, John McDonagh, nominated Stephan for this award and shares his personal thanks for his contribution to the project.

“This particular SVD radar switch-on marks the last in the programme, bringing the total radars live across the country to approximately 950 and benefiting millions of customers using Smart Motorways on a daily basis,”

“Stephan showed particular attention to detail and knowledge of the RADAR system – standing out for his commitment to regularly working through the night to ensure that works were carried out both on time and within budget. Stephan is very deserving of his Employee of the Month award.”
