McCann win Health, Safety and Wellbeing Award at 2022 Constructing Excellence East Midlands Awards
Celebrations are in order as we receive the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Award at this year’s coveted Constructing Excellence East Midlands Awards.
The Midlands branch of Constructing Excellence brings together businesses from across the region to collaborate through a not-for-profit organisation which is owned and operated by its members.
The annual Constructing Excellence Awards celebrate best practice in the built environment, as well as businesses’ abilities to demonstrate a willingness to deliver housing, infrastructure and facilities in a collaborative and sustainable manner.
Winners were announced last night at the prestigious Awards dinner, which took place at The Athena in the heart of Leicester’s city centre.
We received an award in the Health, Safety and Wellbeing category in what was an exceptional evening celebrating the best in construction in the East Midlands.
We were recognised for our approach to mental health and wellbeing following recent investment in delivering Mental Health First Aider courses as part of our Mental Health and Wellbeing Programme. We have also delivered bespoke mental health champion training, with an embedded mental wellbeing policy already in place to set a company-wide approach to supporting others.
John McCann, Managing Director at McCann, is delighted to see the business named as winners in this category, further signifying McCann as an employer of choice for those in the civil engineering industry.
“What a brilliant night it was for McCann. People are at the very heart of our business, whether that be our office staff, contractors or the general public we meet out on our roads. We are committed to ensuring that the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff and the public is a top priority,”
He continues, “Receiving this award is a real honour, we’re proud to be leading the way in mental health support for our employees through our many initiatives,”
“We’ve built our foundations around people, and recognising the need for robust mental health and wellbeing support amongst our staff is one important part of that. Without people, we wouldn’t have McCann, so this is why we continue to invest in our incredible workforce and will do so for many years to come.”
