McCann achieves seventh consecutive RoSPA Gold Award in recognition of health and safety best practice
Our impressive health and safety record continues after we were recently awarded the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Medal in recognition of our seventh consecutive Gold Award.
McCann has achieved this year’s Gold Award in the internationally renowned annual scheme which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas. The judging panel considers entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership, continual improvement, and workforce engagement.
We collected our first Gold Medal following news of our fifth consecutive gold award in 2020 and we have now retained the award for the seventh consecutive year, winning our third Gold Medal in the process. The prestigious award recognises McCann’s ongoing commitment to best practices in health and safety, ensuring our staff and contractors return home safe and well to their families at the end of every working day.
A special presentation ceremony will be held at the London ExCel on Tuesday 17th May with a daytime award ceremony. McCann will be joined by award winners from a variety of sectors and industries in celebration of the country’s outstanding achievements.
Organisations receiving a RoSPA Award are recognised as being world-leaders in health and safety best practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants compete to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running health and safety industry awards.
Our Managing Director John McCann is proud to see the business continuing to meet the highest standards and being recognised by RoSPA once again with both the Gold Award and Gold Medal.
“For our team to have secured our seventh consecutive RoSPA Gold Award means that we are leading the way in terms of health, safety and wellbeing best practice,” says John.
“Excellence in health and safety has always been one of our highest priorities as an organisation throughout our 55 years in business. We always have to be mindful of not just our own workers, but also those people we come into contact with whether that be clients, partners or the general public,”
John continues, “I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the entire McCann team. Without a strong, consistent collective effort across the organisation, we could not achieve such remarkably high standards on a regular basis.”
Speaking about this year’s awards, Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, said: “This is a fantastic and well-deserved accomplishment. All our award entrants demonstrate their unwavering commitment and passion for keeping people safe at work. By receiving this recognition McCann joins like-minded businesses and organisations worldwide, who represent the very best in their approach to Health and Safety,”
“I would like to add my personal thanks for all the work that it has taken to secure this well-deserved award – congratulations to all those involved, who champion and drive up Health and Safety standards every day. You are a fantastic example to others in your sector.”
