Consistently high standards secure international recognition for McCann with 8th consecutive RoSPA Gold Award
For the eighth consecutive year, we have received recognition from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), after securing the coveted RoSPA Gold Medal as a result of our commitment to health and safety excellence in the workplace.
The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards is an internationally renowned annual scheme that is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas. It is the largest occupational health and safety awards programme in the UK and is now into its 67th year – receiving almost 2,000 entries every year, covering nearly 50 countries and reaching over seven million employees.
The programme recognises organisations’ commitment to continuous improvement in the prevention of accidents and ill health at work, looking at entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
This is not the first time that we have secured the Gold Medal, after we were presented with our first in 2020 following news of our fifth consecutive RoSPA Gold Award. We have now retained the award for eight years, fighting off tough international competition in the process.
While most awards are non-competitive – recognising individual organisations’ achievements – competitive awards are presented in 20 industry sectors and for specialist areas of health and safety management.
Glittering award ceremonies will be held at the London ExCel and the JW Marriott Grosvenor House on Park Lane, London, on Tuesday 16th May. Both events will bring together award winners from a variety of sectors and industries in celebration of the country’s outstanding achievements.
For Managing Director, John McCann, seeing the business recognised by RoSPA for eight years in succession is a source of tremendous pride.
“Promoting and achieving excellence in health and safety right across the business is of the highest importance for everyone associated with McCann. From site operatives to head office staff, we take our responsibility for keeping each other and the public safe, very seriously,”
“I’d like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone working across the McCann Group for their continuous hard work and dedication in ensuring that everyone arrives home safe and well at the end of every working day.”
Speaking about this year’s awards, Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, said: “Accidents at work and work-related ill health don’t just have huge financial implications or cause major disruption – they significantly impact an individual’s quality of life. That’s why good safety performance deserves to be recognised and rewarded,”
“We are thrilled that McCann has won a RoSPA Award and would like to congratulate them on showing an unwavering commitment to keeping their employees, clients and customers safe from accidental harm and injury.”
Sponsored by Croner-i, the RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest-running of its kind in the UK, and receives entries from organisations across the globe, making it one of the most sought-after achievement awards for the health and safety industry.
