McCann sub-contractor goes beyond the call of duty

While carrying out recent work on the M62, David Gill of our sub-contractor, HW Martin – stepped in to help someone in a way he probably never thought he would.

He was working a night shift on the M62 NRTS regrade project when he saw a man threatening to jump from a bridge above the motorway. David immediately rushed to the man’s aid and managed to talk him down safely.

There’s no doubt that David’s actions and quick-thinking potentially saved a life, and he has subsequently received a Fluor ‘Spirit of Safety’ Award, presented to him by Chris Shaw, Safety Manager at Fluor.
We are hugely proud of David’s response to this, thankfully rare incident, and in recognition of his dedication to keeping those around him safe, we at McCann have presented him with gift vouchers as a thank you.
