Winning in Health, Safety and Wellbeing
We are delighted to have won the Health, Safety & Wellbeing category at the inaugural Infrastructure 21 awards. We were among just five firms to be acknowledged at last year’s event by Infrastructure 21, who aim to recognise and develop the vital role of supply chain firms in the UK’s transport and utilities networks.
The event was a collaboration between NCE, the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (Ceca) and training body CITB, with award nominations from Tier 1 contractors and the UK Commission for Employment & Skills. Our personal commendation came from BAM Nuttall, in praise of our involvement in several motorway projects:
“McCann has demonstrated excellence in health, safety and wellbeing during its work to support Morgan Sindall in a number of recent smart and managed motorway projects. Throughout these projects McCann employees were actively involved in project health and safety workshops and took part in occupational health medicals. Two of the company’s employees joined weekly meetings to provide insight on issues faced on the ground, with their feedback helping to raise standards on the projects.”
Due to the challenging nature of our work environments, health, safety and wellbeing are crucial issues for McCann. We continually strive to reduce risk, meet the needs of our employees and promote safe working practices, and it is truly heartening to receive this recognition for our efforts.
