Our team is performing essential maintenance work through the completion of projects for East Midlands Asset Delivery Area 7

We are delighted to be helping to maintain the trunk roads of the East Midlands by collaborating with fellow contractors as part of Highways England’s Area 7 framework, for the wider East Midlands Asset Delivery Team (EMAD).

We successfully secured Lot 3 and Lot 12 in 2016 within the wider Area 7 framework – covering street lighting and technology upgrades across the Midlands.

Area 7 is a 4-year framework and comprises of many different schemes – and we are acting as the one of several principle contractors across the framework working together in order to carry out significant improvement and maintenance projects.

Lot 3 and Lot 12 are worth a combined £4m and we successfully won the contracts based on our previous experience of collaborating with contractors within previous frameworks.

Lot 3’s Road Lighting and Electrical works covers the supply of materials, plant and labour for the installation, removal and commissioning of road lighting, illuminated signs, central management systems and other highway electrical equipment.

Lot 12 covers the supply of materials, plant and labour for the construction of highway technology works including the supply and installation of specialist technology equipment. It also covers installation, removal and commissioning of traffic signal equipment and safety cameras.

The framework is scheduled to be completed in 2020 and for John McCann, being part of the wider East Midlands Asset Delivery Team for the Area 7 framework is a fantastic opportunity for the team to work in partnership with other contractors in order to deliver the best results for the region’s roads.

“The frameworks are a relatively new concept and are all about working as part of a community and building relationships in order to deliver essential works to the benefit of the respective regions while adhering to Highways England’s strategic goals,” said John.

“We look forward to a further 2 years operating alongside Highways England and fellow partners as part of the Area 7 framework in order to continue to maintain lighting and associated technologies across the region’s roads.” added John.
