We’ve strengthed our design team with the appointment of Principal Design Engineer, Yvonne Atkinson

We’re delighted to announce that we have strengthened our in-house design team with the appointment of experienced lighting design specialist, Yvonne Atkinson.

Yvonne joins us in the role of Principal Design Engineer from WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff, where she worked as Principal Engineer/Team Leader – and follows former WSP employee Michael Walker – who made the same transition to us in 2017.

Yvonne brings with her 16 years’ experience within the lighting design sector across both public and private sector positions, supervising and working on the design of various exterior lighting design projects.

Landmark projects for Yvonne have included the LR3 Tramlink in Denmark – which included LED lighting design and the installation of 2,000 units across 27 kilometres of the tram network, as well as a project to install over 78,000 lighting units with Leeds City Council.

She was also responsible for calculations to install LED lighting in the London Borough of Hillingdon, as well as design for LED lights in North East Lincolnshire – two projects that saw her work alongside our team – which is still responsible for both installation and maintenance in both the Hillingdon and Lincolnshire areas.

Yvonne is excited to get started and bring her wealth of experience to our team – “The culture and positive reputation of McCann really appealed to me when I knew that this position was available,” said Yvonne.

Yvonne’s line manager Michael Walker, is excited to work with her again following their time together at WSP, and knows what to expect from her day in, day out – “Yvonne brings a solid work ethic and vast experience of the lighting design sector,” said Michael.
