Street Works Administrator

We are currently hiring for a Street Works Administrator in the Calderdale region. Working on our Street Lighting contract, the successful candidate will be responsible for the generation and administration of street works permits and notices.

The successful candidate will need to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA) and the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, (NRSWA). In order to carry out this role effectively you will have excellent organisational skills and an ability to pay close attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

- Work closely to build strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders including relevant Highway Authorities, internal planners

- Managing active permits and notices to maintain compliance at all stages of the job, preventing Fixed Penalty Notices and Overrun charges.

- Respond to Highway Authority comments and Modification Requests promptly.

- Managing notices and permits in line with Traffic Management requirements

- Sending out daily reports on street works activity i.e. Permit Status updates / Registrations Due / Weekly Whereabouts

- To carry out any other administrative & support duties required for the contract

Skills and Knowledge:

- You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills for regular interaction with internal staff, field representatives and external stakeholders.

- You will be able to demonstrate excellent computer skills

- You must have experience of working within the Utilities Industry

- You will have the ability to work well on your own as well as a team

- Your able to meet deadlines

- You must have the ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure

- An understanding of the New Roads & Street Works Act (NRSWA) regarding carrying out works in the highway is preferred but training will be given

Street Lighting Hiab Operator

In this role you will support the growth of our Street Lighting Business, carrying out various tasks within the titled role ensuring that all H&S objectives and responsibilities are adhered to. You will also assist as a team member carrying out the maintenance and erection of Street Lighting Columns, Signs and related equipment.

As a Hiab (Installation Crane) Operative, you will:

- Erect, maintain and remove street lighting, signs and related equipment, paying careful attention to buried services and overhead cables

- Excavate and reinstate coated and other surface materials

- Drive vehicles and operate ancillary plant (Hoists or Lorry Loaders) and, where appropriate, carry out vehicle and plant checks requiring routine maintenance and cleaning

- Transport goods, equipment and personnel to and from site

- Assist in the loading and un-loading of the vehicles using, where necessary, mechanical aids

To be successful in this role, you will:

- Have previous street lighting experience

- Hold a CSCS or ECS card

- Desirable - Manual Handling, Emergency First Aid and G39

- Hold a full UK driving license to drive over 3.5t

- Be a NRSWA Operative

- Hold a GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English

- Have excellent communication skills

Reporting to the Maintenance / Installation Supervisor your responsibilities will include carrying out maintenance, testing and installation of all electrical equipment associated with Street Lighting to the relevant standards in an efficient and timely manner whilst ensuring compliance with Health & Safety Rules, Regulations and Legislations.

You should also be able to work with minimum supervision, complete all paperwork as required, liaise with other trades when required and maintain a clean and tidy work place.

Technical competencies:
You should hold a relevant electrical qualification, have experience of the electrical contracting industry and have time served as a qualified electrician. You should also be experienced in the 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations and be trained in mobile elevated work platforms.

Other desirable competencies include:

- Manual Handling, Emergency First Aid and G39
- 2391 Electrical Testing

Motorway Technology Supervisor

We have an exciting opportunity for a Motorway Technology Supervisor to join our team.

As Motorway Technology Supervisor you will be responsible for:

- To oversee all installation works associated with the technology aspects of large motorway systems upgrading works
- To direct teams covering the installation communications cabling, technology equipment, electronic systems components and superstructure work from construction to commissioning
- To ensure that all site works are conducted in a safe manner
- To manage the production of documentation in respect of the H&S file, handover documentation and other paperwork required by the contract
- To deal with technology works related problems to ensure that they do not impact the overall project
- To ensure that work is completed safely, on time and to budget, and to the required quality
- To manage the Technology elements of the project

The ideal applicant will have experience of:

- Installation and Construction of Motorway Communications systemsKnowledge of Highways England Standards, Specifications, Systems & Equipment
- Working in a high speed motorway environment
- Assisting with programme production
- Electrical Qualification / Experience (preferred)
- Used to working to a programme and able to plan / schedule working activities

Street lighting operatives

We are recruiting for Street Lighting Operatives to join our growing team. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for carrying out all aspect of electrical installation and maintenance works in Calderdale, West Yorkshire.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Surveying, TR22, asset data collection
- Planned and reactive maintenance
- Installation of lighting column and LED technology
- Assisting in electrical testing activities
- Excavation and reinstatement
- Working at heights (MEWP)
- There will be a requirement to work some unsociable hours and overtime and to undertake emergency call out and standby when required


- Street lighting or highways experience
- G39 certification
- HEA Approved
- IPAF qualified
- Manual handling
- Abrasive wheels
- First Aid
- Holder of valid driving licence
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)


- HGV Class 2
- NRSWA Units 1 to 9
